And why would we not? With a stacked line up like we had last night?! The show was a major success, thanks to all those who came out and to those who participated. The event was a major demonstration that our community is not afraid to show unity and solidarity. Happy Independence Day!

Help KICKSTART FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF WHITE this Summer
A "sci-fi memoir fueled by high energy comedy" set to music composed and performed live by Charles Kim, FTTSOW is sure to be one of the most memorable shows of the 2010 Fringe Festival and a new frontier for Asian American theatre! 

BROWNSTAR needs your help to ensure FTTSOW will be a success.  We've joined up with Kickstarter ("a new way to fund & follow creativity" as featured in the NYTimes) to make it easy and rewarding for BROWNSTAR's fans to show their support.  Visit the FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF WHITE page and show your support by donating to help mount this new production.  Please act now - we must meet our funding target before the show's August 20th opening!

BROWNSTAR to perform at FringeNYC!
As if we weren't having an exciting enough year already! BROWNSTAR's summer and early fall just got that much sicccckkkerr. Not only will we be hitting the road this July for our first ever WEST COAST tour (details to come), not only will we be reprising UNIFICATION in August, but we will also be bringing the fire to the The NEW YORK  INTERNATIONAL FRINGE FESTIVAL (FRINGE NYC a Production of the Present Company)! That's right: it's official, people - BSTAR's full length show, Faster Than The Speed Of White, will be hitting NEW YORK CITY for two weeks in August. Damn, it feels good, don't it? Keep your ears to the ground and your eyes to the stars for more updates on  FRINGENYC!

BROWNSTAR takes over WASHINGTON DC: Special guests abound!
BROWNSTAR is headed to the DISTRICT of COLIMBIA for a CARE INTERNATIONAL  fundraiser in Meze in Adams Morgan. Be sure to check out the show as it will be a special one: Our man CHUCK KIM aka Chucky-Star aka the Doctor of Divinity aka THE THIRD DIMENSION will be accompanying BROWNSTAR for the first time on the bass guitar.  You do not want to miss this one!

NEW SHOWS: LOYOLA U CHICAGO, WASHINGTON DC
BROWNSTAR is coming to Loyola  University Chicago Friday, April 9th as part of Loyola's API Month 2010. The show starts at  7:30pm. IF YOU ARE IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA, make sure you get out to see us! Details on the Facebook link provided!

ALSO: May 1st, 2010, BROWNSTAR will be featuring at a CARE INTERNATIONAL  fundraiser in Meze in Adams Morgan. More details to come on this, but we want to give major props to our man, Jimi Ige, for helping set this up! THE DISTRICT is officially marked as BROWNSTAR territory! Unh.
